Oh, and to make this post a bit meatier, I just learned that the libraries in Minnesota give out free passes to the Minnesota Zoo!  How do I know this?  Well, we got a call at the library today by a woman who was very perturbed when we couldn't immediately give her passes to the MN zoo. 
My co-worker on reception was trying to figure out wtf this lady was talking about.  "Maybe she means the Metropolitan Toronto Zoo?" (this would explain why she said something that began with an 'M')  "Do you mean pass or class?" (maybe there are classes somewhere about the zoo??)  We transfered her to the department in the library that knows about community events because we couldn't help her.  She was transferred back and kinda miffed that we'd sent her to the "wrong department".

Eventually she got fed up and was getting fed up.  "What state are you in?" she asks.

Bingo.

"We're in Newmarket... Ontario... Canada..."

"Oh... well, nevermind then.  Goodbye!"

This isn't the first phonecall we've gotten from the states asking us stuff about Newmarket.  Someone called to inform us that the library map was wrong on our website.  I think there was some kefuffle with that as well before they realized that they'd called the wrong country.

Try googling Newmarket.  The Ontario verson shows up first.  Then there's New Hampshire... I know there's a New Market, MN somewhere, but it comes up WAY late on the google search.

Fun times.  We want to write a book for interesting phone calls.

I've actually been looking forward to going back to school.  It'll put some rigid structure into my life that has been woefully lacking this summer.  (Shift work will do that to you.)

I'm also realizing that part of my angsty down moods this summer probably has something to do with me picking up on the high-stress vibes going around my house.  I hate it when people are stressed and try to hide it from me.  It leaves me wondering why the FUCK I feel so damn lousy!
It was the same way when my dad was sick when I was younger and they tried to sheild me from the facts.  Sure, nobody wants their 6 year old to know the nasty shit that's happening, but it doesn't mean they don't know something's up.

I'm rambling, sorry.  I guess I have shit to say and this is the first time I've been able to sit down and say it.

I've also been giggling like a madwoman whenever I recall my favourite commercial.  ( (Possibly of all time, we'll see... I'll tell you at the end of time XD) )

This is one of the few days to myself that I've had in a while, so I'm going to be catching up on all my messages and things I wanted to post!

Holy FUCK is all I have to say to this movie.  I wanna see it so badly.

I caught the Matrix 2 the other day, while nursing Mike back to health.  (He got a COLD, somehow, and since I love taking care of him while he's sick (don't ask) I managed to catch this.)  It renewed my interest in the TWINS (who are fucking hot and I'm sad that they weren't in the 3rd movie, or that there isn't much more fanwork for them out there).
The movie also gave me the opportunity to explain something to Mike, that you all who have seen the movie may be able to agree with me on.  In the 2nd movie there is a scene where Morpheus and the Keymaker are on top of a transport truck on the freeway.
The transport truck is going along at a good clip, and the driver has been taken over by an agent.  Antoher transport truck, now under the control of another agent, has turned around on the freeway and the two trucks are driving towards each other at a good clip.
There is a building anticipation as they are flying at each other, Morpheus says, "Neo, if you're out there, I could really use you..." and then the trucks crash and everything goes to slow motion.  We see the trailer's rippling and then exploding in a wave as the impact finally reaches them.  Morpheus and the keymaker are thrown into the air, flying high above the collision, just as the trucks explode, engulfing the air in flames and Neo flies in at the last second.  Grabs the two of them and lifts them into the air, spinning as he goes to gain as much lift as he can before the explosion follows them high into the air.

Link, the operator in the ship outside the matrix, jumps up with his arms in the air and screams. YES!

I do the same thing.  EVERY. SINGLE. TIME.

The way that scene is played out, the way it builds up and everything about it from the camera angles to the music to the anxiety and build-up of telling us about how dangerous the freeway is... it builds up my excitement levels to the right level where I feel chills watching it every single time.

I found a clip of it on youtube.  The scene I'm talking about starts around 7:00 and goes to the end, but you may wish to watch the whole thing to get the buildup I'm talking about.

This is the official post for communication about the potential doujinshi/fan comic based on my Tekken Fanfiction Unlikely Angel.
I created this post so people can watch/bookmark/etc. it and keep up to date on the doujinshi project.  (Is there any way that people can be notified every time I update this post?)  I may have to make a comm for this...
(I also have a club at y!gallery where I will post any updates as well. This post, as well as my y!g club will be kept in sync.)

I have created a poll in two places (for ease of voting) to gauge interest:  At my regular journal and On Y!Gallery
(It seems like there are no more votes to come in, but I'll wait until I've posted the Epilogue to UA before tallying them.)

NEWS

To clear some things up about this project (if it gets underway): 
- this is something we're doing for fun.  I'm not making money off of this and artists won't either.  This won't be sold anywhere or anything like that.  I'm not an artist, so I don't know where we could post/host this doujinshi.  If someone has any ideas, please share.
     - The only exception to this first point is if only ONE artist wants to get involved.  At that point, it would be 50/50.  <--- I don't expect this to happen, but I mention it anyways, if anyone wondered.
- I don't expect this whole thing to be reproduced word-for-word.  It would be an adaptation with lots of my extraneious bullshit cut out.  Bullshit may include, but is not limited to, all the time I spent beefing up Hwoarang's confidence with Angel's powers.  Maybe some of their adventures in Yakushima (like visiting the onsen) (although, people seem to have really enjoyed Yakushima, so... if there's a scene from there you're dying to draw, then help yourself!  Just don't feel like it MUST be done or anything.)
- I can't think of anything else people might want to know about.  Umm... ask??

I will post again with a list of chapters that people have said they want, as well as a better idea of timelines and elements in the chapters that should be kept in the comic version.  (Elements are either lines that I thought were important, certain actions or some factor that I thought was important to the story as a whole.)

• I got several votes from artists willing to collab with other artists on this project (about 5 total) and I don't know if that small number will scare off anybody who had voted as willing to help out.
• I also got a vote from an artist willing to do the whole thing themselves.
  

If you voted as willing to help, please comment to tell me you're still interested, and so we can get information exchanged.

If you wish to change your vote, that's fine too. I won't hold anyone to the vote on my first poll. However, once we start, I'll be annoyed if someone backs out or over-extended themselves and can't finish what they committed to.
I know it can take a while to do something like this, which is fine. My rl has delayed releases of chapters, so I understand that things can get hectic. I am the type who likes to finish things once started, so this is something I won't drop, and I'd like to work with people who won't drop it either.

If you want to get involved in this, show your support or let me know you had voted, but are unable to help out anymore, NOW is the time to let me know.

If I don't hear back from any of the voters, then I'll leave this project as a pipe-dream and move on to write other things.
